Google's Pixelbook Go is a dead good Chromebook, and that's exactly what the keep company set bent on make over.

Pixelbook Go specs and features

As befits a midrange laptop, the Pixelbook Function comes with good- or better-quality components in reasonable amounts. Other reason the Pixelbook Go is so lap-able is because it corset pretty chilly. I noticed a flimsy warmth in the upper bottom of the keyboard tray, warm the hinge, but nonentity that made me want to move it to a tabletop.

Display: Nice resolution, tolerable aspect ratio

The 13.3-inch, 1920×1080 Full HD exhibit available on all but the highest-end Pixelbook Go is a welcome upgrade from the 1366×768 HD screens we see on too many other Chromebooks. Images and text look crisp, and colors look good (the display has a 72-percent NTSC color gamut rating).

This resolution is also pretty easy on battery life. Of run, you'll use more succus if you crank the brightness all the way upward—we measured a hearty 391 nits at the center of the screen, a good grade for working outside. We used the Pixelbook Go with the display set at about 200 nits, which is comfortably bright for indoor use.

The wide, 16:9 vista ratio may frustrate some users, as it's better for watching movies than scrolling documents or spreadsheets. Google said users wanted this aspect ratio thus they could view 2 documents close—fair enough. Even so, Google also told me that this sizing and aspect ratio of display was promptly addressable in quantity, serving with the overall toll of the Pixelbook Go.

The Hush Keys on the Pixelbook Go are indeed quiet, and the travel, piece just 19mm, is surprisingly well-to-do.

Google didn't have to try too fractious to make a better keyboard for Chromebooks. Most of the ones I've tried in low-end models have such harsh travel that it feels similar I'm typing on rocks. The ones in the midrange Chromebooks are generally healthier.

The Hush Keys on the Pixelbook Go are indeed very quiet. Their 19mm of travel International Relations and Security Network't much, but it's placate as it hits bottom. I wish the keys had a moment of a pregnant chad to help with typing accuracy, simply that's a low priority if you'ray trying to save money on the design.

I view touchpads as a necessity via media in laptops, less easy than a mouse. The large, concentrated glass clickpad on the Pixelbook Go is still a good example of the breed. IT responds pronto to my touches and taps, and it registers clicks almost all the way up to the top.

Accessories and connectivity

The Pixelbook Go comes with dual front microphones, dual speakers (on either side of the keyboard), and a 2MP head-on camera that can phonograph record 1080p video at 60 fps. While I didn't stress transcription video, I did use the tv camera for a video conference during testing. Did I mention that video conferences drive Maine crazy, especially when the video's pitiful or the audio is choppy? This video conference didn't drive Maine crazy. The video quality was astonishingly parky, and the sound quality was fine also.

Almost the connectivity, note that you give just ii USB-C ports, one on each face of the Pixelbook Go. Both may be used for charging, or conjunctive a display or a memory device. If you have bequest drives, it's fourth dimension for a USB-C hub.

Performance
